UCL: Tuchel speaks as Chelsea is paired with FC Porto
The Uefa Champions League draw for the quarter-final id out and Chelsea happens to be one of the English club left in the league.
The Blues have been paired against Portuguese side, FC Porto and have been tipped to be the favourite to win.
The Blues will be heading away to FC Porto to play the first leg before they host the second leeg at Stanford Bridge which is an advantage for them.
However, speaking ahead of the match, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has revealed his excitement about being paired with FC Porto.
Tuchel revealed he was happy the Blues were not paired against an English team as he believes the UCL is about playing with international clubs.
This will not be the first time Chelsea will play FC Porto as they played in 2004/05, 2006/07, 2009/10 and 2015/16 Champions League campaigns, with the result from the meetings consistently tight.
FC Porto will also be a tough nut to crack for the Blues as the Portuguese side knocked Juventus out of the competition in the round of 16 with two impressive performances.
Speaking to Chelsea official website after the game, the German gaffer said, “First of all, I’m happy we play an international game and not against an English team.”
He also revealed his side will do all it can to move to the next stage.
