Chelsea returned to action on Wednesday night when they hosted German club Borussia Dortmund in the UCL round of the 16-second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The Blues won the match on a 2-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz.

However, former Chelsea star Joe Cole was amazed by Havertz’s performance from during Chelsea’s win on Tuesday night.

This comes as the west London side produced one of their memorable European nights at Stamford Bridge to reach make it to the Champions League quarter-finals this season.

Havertz, who took the spot kick for Chelsea thought he had blown a golden opportunity when he missed his first. However, an encroachment allowed him to retake the penalty, which he this time did convert under immense pressure.

After the match, Cole singled out Havertz for his outstanding performance.

“Kai Havertz was coming into the game. Owen is right, he was absolutely outstanding tonight,” Cole told BT Sport.
