Chelsea warned against terminating forward’s contract

Former Chelsea player, Florent Malouda has sent a message to the club in regards to Raheem Sterling’s future.
Malouda warned the Blues against terminating the winger’s contract a he urged them to discuss with Sterling to earn his place in manager Enzo Maresca’s squad this campaign.
The Frenchman believes the England star can be useful for Maresca’s side due to his experience in the Premier League.
Recall that the Blues loaned Sterling to Arsenal last season, but he failed to impress, making the North London club refuse to sign him on a permanent transfer.
Sterling had to make a return to Chelsea who tried to sell him off in the summer transfer window.
The English winger was, however, unable to secure a new club before the close of the window.
As of now, Sterling has been ruled out Maresca’s plans at Stamford Bridge this season, but Malouda believes that terminating the 30-year-old contract should not be an option for Chelsea to consider because of his high wages.
“I’m sure Raheem Sterling, in full confidence, without injury problems, terminating his contract wouldn’t be an option,” Malouda said in his message via Boyle Sports to Chelsea.
