UCL: Chelsea’s injury update vs AC Milan
Ahead of Chelsea’s game vs Italian club AC Milan on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, the Blues manager Graham Potter has given the latest injury update of his squad.
Potter gave an update on Edouard Mendy who has been out with a knee injury and has missed two matches under the new manager.
The former Brighton manager revealed Mendy has been training with the team for the last few days and has made good progress.
He hinted that Mendy will be in the Blues squad against AC Milan.
Potter also gave an update on Jorginho and Kai Havertz, who were both substituted in the second half of the Blues Saturday’s Premier League game vs Crystal Palace.
‘Jorgi felt a little bit of discomfort in his abdominal area against Crystal Palace but was training today so we’ll see how he reacts to that and take a decision later on today,’ said Potter. ‘Kai had a slight feeling as well but again trained today.’
Speaking about N’Golo Kante, Potter said the French midfielder is training more following his return from a serious hamstring injury suffered in the second game of the season in mid-August.
‘N’Golo’s training more and more – not fully but getting closer so that’s really positive,’ noted Potter.
