Chelsea manager and Germany international Thomas Tuchel has expressed his disgust at EPL over the refusal to postpone the Blues match vs the Wolves on Sunday.

Chelsea had to face the Wolves on Sunday with only six players on their substitute bench, while two of those on the bench were goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli.

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah played in the central midfield as the Blues didn’t have available options in the midfield.

The Blues players Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell all tested positive for Covid-19 and missed the match.

Ahead of the match vs the Wolves, the report revealed that the west London club had asked the Premier League to postpone the match, but it was turned down on Sunday morning

“I am worried from a medical point of view, we have had four days of consecutive tests,” Tuchel told the BBC.

“How will it stop if we are on a bus together and in meetings. We are disappointed, we are a bit angry.

“We applied to not play and put the situation under control and it was rejected.

“It is very hard to understand it, we are concerned about the health of the players.

“We end up with players who play coming from injuries and we take the risk.”
