Tuchel confirms contract extension talks with Chelsea
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in a recent statement has hinted at contract extension talks with the club.
Tuchel, who joined the Blues in January 2021, under former owner Roman Abramovich has enjoyed a successful period at Stamford Bridge, winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Under the German, the Blues have also reached multiple domestic cup finals, finishing as runners-up in each of them.
However, unlike under Abramovich when managers not performing as expected were sacked immediately, the Blues’ new owner led by Todd Boehly are ready to give the German more time to build the team.
As quoted by football.london, Tuchel said: “There are talks, but I think given the situation where we come from, and where we are in the middle of the transfer period, I think it is the very best if I focus on my team and on sports and on being competitive.
“My people talk to the owners and take care of everything else. You know how glad I am to be here and how much I like it. So it’s a good thing.”
