Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers in a statement has opened up on why Wesley Fofana was missing in action against Southampton on Saturday.

Fofana has been linked with moves to Chelsea this summer and his absence during the game against Southampton had sparked speculations that the Foxes might have reached an agreement with the Blues for him.

Rodgers in a statement has said the France international was absent from the match because he was not in the right frame of mind.

“Wesley Fofana out of the squad – because he wasn’t in right frame of mind to be involved today,” the Leicester manager said ahead of kickoff against Southampton.

While Fofana has reached a personal agreement with the Blues and would love to join the west London side this summer, Rodgers in a previous statement has insisted that the French defender is not for sale.

The Foxes are said to have rejected two bids for him from Chelsea, who are reportedly set to return to the table with a third bid.
