Chelsea have been linked with moves for several new players this summer as they plan to build a squad under newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca.

One of the players Chelsea have been linked with is Samu Omorodion, with the report disclosing that they recently submitted a bid worth £42 million to La Liga club Atletico Madrid for him.

However, a more recent report via Los Rojiblancos has disclosed that the Blues bid for Omorodion has been rejected by the Spanish side.

Madrid rejected the proposal as they want to sell the Spanish attacking sensation for £70 million in the summer transfer window.

While the west London side have already signed a highly-rated attacking prospect from the Spanish La Liga with Marc Guiu joining them from Barcelona, they remain interested in signing a centre forward.

It is, however, unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to cough out £70 million for the Atletico Madrid star and may end up turning their attention to other players in the same category.

With Maresca already taken full charge of the Blues early this month, Chelsea are planning to focus on winning titles next season having struggled to impress last season under former manager Mauricio Pochettino who managed to help them finish in the top six.
