There have been reports that EPL Champions, Liverpool may not actively participate in the January Transfer window in terms of signing new players.

However, a recent report has claimed the Reds may have to let go of two players Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi in January.

According to ESPN reports, it revealed that Liverpool are open to offers for the pair, who have found it hard to get playing chances this season through a combination of being out of favour and injured.

Shaqiri would have left Anfield in the summer transfer window but the coronavirus pandemic seemed to have been the hindrance to his move.

Origi on the other hand has failed to take his chances this season and has fallen behind Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino in the Anfield pecking order.

With Jota gaining wide applause there is no indication that Origi would get any playing chances at all. Some fans have in fact being calling on coach Jurgen Klopp to start Jota regularly ahead of Brazil star, Firminho.

The best decision for Origi and shaqiri would be to leave Anfield in January.

While Origi has been linked with moves to Leeds United, no club have shown interest in Shaqiri so far, we however expect this to change when the January transfer window opens.
