Real Madrid have reportedly set a staggering £86 million asking price for Brazilian forward Rodrygo, amid growing interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners are said to have opened talks as they continue to monitor his situation closely.

Rodrygo’s future in the Spanish capital has been uncertain following a significant drop in his playing time. Despite delivering crucial performances in recent seasons, the 23-year-old now finds himself on the fringes of the squad. The arrivals and continued prominence of stars like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior have pushed him further down the pecking order.

The Brazilian’s struggles were highlighted once again this week when he remained on the bench for the fifth consecutive match, as Real Madrid suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals. His lack of minutes has fuelled speculation about a potential exit.

However, according to reports from Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, Real Madrid have no intention of allowing Rodrygo to leave for a cut-price fee. The club is determined to secure a fee of at least £86 million before considering any offers for the talented attacker.

Arsenal, looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season, are said to be interested but may need to offload players or adjust their budget to meet Madrid’s valuation. Talks are expected to continue as the transfer window progresses.
