It appears Chelsea are determined to sign a new striker this summer and RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku is one of their favourites.

However, Nkunku has dropped a hint over his future this summer after it was claimed he would be leaving the Bundesliga club after being voted player of the year.

A report via Football.London understands Chelsea are interested in signing Nkunku from Leipzig this summer, having scouted the striker during the 2021/22 campaign.

Nkunku was impressive for RB Leipzig’s lasting season scoring 35 goals in 51 appearances last season for Leipzig, 20 in the Bundesliga.

Speaking on his future as the German club aims to tie him down to a new contract Nkunku said: “Paris is my home, my favourite club. I don’t close any doors. Everything is possible in football.

“It’s nice to have the biggest clubs in the world interested in me. But it’s also great to see that Leipzig are doing everything to keep me”.

Chelsea have been linked with moves for new strikers this summer especially as Lukaku and Timo Werner failed to impress.
