Potter speaks about Aubameyang, says striker has nothing to prove to him
Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, in a statement has stressed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Spanish club, Barcelona has nothing to prove to him.
Aubameyang made it to the first team during Potter’s first game in charge at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.
But the former Arsenal star has failed to make the expected impact but remains “focused”, says his new manager.
Potter described the 33-year-old striker as a “top professional”, while expressing the respect he has for the striker’s club career.
“I’ve enjoyed working with him in the brief time we’ve been together,” Potter told reporters.
“He’s focussed, he wants to do well, he wants to score goals.
“He’s got nothing to prove to me. His career is his career, I’ve got huge respect for that. He’s acted as a top professional and a top person.”
Aubameyang scored the opening goal for Chelsea during their recent win vs Crystal Palace as Conor Gallagher sealed the win with a second goal.
