Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, returned to his former club Brighton on Saturday and he was booed by fans.

The Blues manager in a post-match statement insisted he does not owe Brighton fans any apologies after their action.

Potter suffered his first defeat as Chelsea’s coach losing 4-1 to a side he left seven weeks ago.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoreboard before two own goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Chalobah made the Blues’ chances of equalising harder.

While Kai Havertz managed to pull one back, Pascal Gross restored Brighton’s three-goal lead.

“I have nothing to apologise or say sorry for. I think I did a good job at the club and left it in a good place but people are entitled to their opinions.

“It’s part of the process. You have to suffer and feel pain in order to grow and get better. Nobody said we were the finished article. We have to take the pain today and learn from it,” Potter said.
