One of Chelsea’s best players left last summer
Former Football star Pat Nevin has said his heart broke when Antonio Rudiger, who he regards as Chelsea’s best player left last summer.
Nevin made this known while expressing an opinion on the issues Chelsea manager Graham Potter faces ahead of their Premier League tie with Fulham on Thursday night.
Recall that Rudiger made a free transfer from Chelsea to join La Liga giants Real Madrid last summer transfer window.
“The injuries don’t help him, but the problems run deeper than that,” Nevin was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
“My heart broke when Antonio Rudiger left in the summer because he is such a brilliant defender, one of the best you will get. One of the best on the planet.
He added, “To lose him was gigantic. That said, defence is not the problem for Graham Potter. It’s the creation of goals and chances.”
Since Rudiger’s departure, Chelsea are yet to regain the fine form they were known for.
