Not important to us – Klopp reacts to Chelsea defeat
Chelsea dropped from the top of the EPL table on Saturday after they suffered a 3-2 defeat to West Ham.
The Blues are now at the third spot, with Liverpool ahead of them by one point, while Man City are not the league toppers.
Following Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 win over 1-0 win vs Wolves on Saturday, coach Jurgen Klopp has said Chelsea’s defeat is not important to his squad.
Liverpool were on course for a draw before the second-half substitute; Divock Origi popped up in injury time to score a lone goal that gave them three points.
When asked about the significance of the result following Chelsea’s defeat, Klopp told Sky Sports, “Yeah, but honestly other results are really not important.
“I don’t even know exactly how many points we have. We just have to win football games.
“Three days ago, we played the derby and it’s easy to focus on the derby, obviously, because it’s the game of the year.
“And then you have this little drop, you need to in a recovery period where you switch off and don’t think about football for the next 72 hours. Then you start the machine again.”
