Mourinho names team he turned down twice

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed he rejected the offer to be the head coach role in the Portugal national team twice.

According to the Portugal international, the first time was when he was in charge of Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Mourinho in his statement claimed that Real president, Florentino Perez, blocked his exit at the time.

While turned down Portugal for a second time when he was manager at AS Roma.

He told Fabrizio Romano: “I had the door open to be Portugal coach twice.

“First time when I was at Real Madrid but Florentino told me: no chance.

“The second time was at Roma, I was sacked a few months later. But I don’t regret that because I’m happy with the reason.”

Mourinho who has managed clubs in different leagues in Europe is currently out of job since his sack at Roma.
