Mount names best striker in the world ahead of game vs Man City

Ahead of their game against Man City on Thursday night, Chelsea star Mason Mount has named Erling Haaland as the best striker in the world.

Mount in his statement said no one scores goals the manner the Norwegian striker has been scoring since he arrived in the Premier League from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He, however, warned his teammates not to make Haaland their focus.

So far Haaland has scored 21 goals in 15 Premier League games for Pep Guardiola’s side.

He has also scored more Premier League goals than the entire Chelsea team this season.

Speaking ahead of their clash, Mount was quizzed about Haaland and he told Sky Sports: “He’s a very good player.

“It’s not just him – they have many good players. We know he can be dangerous…”

Asked if the former Borussia Dortmund striker was one of the best forwards in the world at the moment, the England international added: “Strikers? Yeah.

“I don’t think there’s probably anyone scoring as many goals as him right now or performing the way he is, so he has to be up there, yeah.”
