Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku may have apologised for his controversial interview with Sky Sports; however, there are claims that he would still have to pay a fine for his comment.

Lukaku had come under fire after his interview with Sky Italia went viral. The Belgian striker in the interview stated that he was unhappy and looked forward to returning to Stamford Bridge.

His comment saw Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel drop him out of the Blues squad vs Liverpool on Sunday.

Despite Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel having cleared the air with Lukaku, the Belgian forward is still set to receive a fine for his comments.

According to a report via Italian outfit, La Repubblica, Lukaku will be fined £417,000 by Chelsea.

However, this is not the first time Lukaku would be fined by a club, as he was also fined £400,000 by Manchester United for failing to report for training in 2019.

Chelsea are yet to confirm if this claim is true.
