Lampard told to drop this forward due to poor finishing

Former Chelsea forward Joe Cole has urged Frank Lampard to drop new signing Timo Werner due to his poor finishing in the past few matches.

Timo Werner was brought in from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £52m and have been showing his potential ever since the season started.

However, Werner has not been at his best form for the past few matches as he suffered a frustrating night in the Blues 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday.

The Germany international has failed to score for Chelsea since netting in the 4-1 win against Sheffield United last month, and Timo Werner struggled to make an impact again against Wolves.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, Cole claimed the team could do with some freshening up – and believes Werner is the man who could make way for another player over the Christmas period.

Joe Cole stated that Werner when he comes in off the left wing is very dangerous but he needs to brush up on his finishing.

Not underestimating his abilities, Joe Cole noted that it’s time Frank Lampard rotate the squad upfront as the Blues have more options now.

We could see Lampard make some changes in the Blues squad in their next game against West Ham in order to prevent a 3rd defeat in a row.
