Chelsea players “very honoured” to play under Frank Lampard – Kai Havertz
Chelsea new summer signing Kai Havertz have insisted that the blues players are honoured to be playing under a young, dedicated manager like Frank Lampard.
Frank Lampard was brought in to steady the ship after Maurizio Sarri returned to Italy to manage Juventus last season and have been doing a wonderful job by giving the youths a chance to prove themselves on the biggest stage.
With some young players like Kai Havertz yet to find their feet in the league, Frank Lampard jumped to the defence of his new summer this week after he came under criticism for recent performances.
He defended the Germany International as he urged fans to give him more chance to prove his worth.
Speaking with the club official website, Havertz now repaid the favour as he heaped praise on his boss.
He says that the players ‘are very honoured’ to be playing under a ‘legend’ like Frank Lampard, and he believes that the former Chelsea player is perfectly situated to understand how the players are feeling because he has been there himself.
Havertz stated that when you have Lampard as a manager it makes it very easy because he lived the same life players are living now.
He knows exactly what they think in some situations.
Havertz insisted that it’s very important to have someone who understands the Premier League and everyone know that Lampard is the best for the post as he’s a legend for the club and for world football.
He also added that it’s very easy to understand Lampard’s philosophy and the whole team are very honoured to play under him.
