Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has backed the club’s most expensive player Kai Havertz to hit the form that saw the London club pay a huge fee for his services.

Kai Havertz became Chelsea player after joining for £70m in the summer from Bayer Leverkusen but has not hit the ground running.

This has led to criticism from some section of the fans as his performance during the recent loss to Everton raised more eyebrows on the sum of money paid to Bayer Leverkusen .

However, speaking to press ahead of Chelsea mid-week clash against Wolves, Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard noted that in the modern day, there are going to be criticism for every single players.

He urged fans from the Chelsea end to be patient with Kai Havertz because he is a top-quality talent who has come into the Premier league.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard noted that Kai Havertz can play in any position across the front three and he has played on the right countless times before he played for Chelsea.

Chelsea will now face the Wolves on Tuesday and will hope to win in order to win back fans confidence.
