Guardiola picks his favourite midfielder between Lampard, Scholes and Gerrard

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has picked former Manchester United star Paul Scholes as his favourite midfielder ahead of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Guardiola in his statement said he loves Scholes while stressing that the former midfield maestro had everything during his days as a footballer.

The Citizens manager made this known when he quizzed about his verdict on the famous debate about who is the best midfielder among the former England midfielders.

Speaking to Ferdinand on Vibe with Five, Guardiola said: “All respect to Frank, to Steven, but Paul Scholes is my favourite one. I love it.

“I think he had everything but the other two, come on, Frank and Steven Gerrard changed this. Paul Scholes is my favourite.”

Scholes during his playing days, made 718 appearances for Man United, scoring 155 goals during his career as a professional footballer.
