Gallas express concern for this Chelsea star

Former Chelsea defender, William Gallas has singled out Levi Colwill, expressing concerns over his current form.

According to Gallas, there is no improvement in Colwill’s game at the moment.

Recall that the Blues have invested hugely in strengthening their defence in the last 18 months.

But they have mostly signed  inexperienced centre halves.

With the departure of veteran defender Thiago Silva at last season, the West London club have been without a senior presence at the heart of their backline, leaving Colwill to marshal Enzo Maresca’s side.

Gallas in a statement via Prime Casinos stated that it was a hame that the youngster didn’t get a chance to maybe play one or two more years with Thiago Silva before the Brazil legend left.

The former Chelsea defender believed if that if Colwill had played with Silva for two more years, he would develop into a monster, but with no one around, he has to be the boss of the defence, even though he is still too young.

“He can’t manage his defence line because at the moment he’s thinking about his performance first,” Gallas said.

He added that life at Stamford Bridge has not been easy for Colwill.
