As Chelsea prepare to meet Morcambe in their third round of FA cup match at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, blues manager Frank Lampard has showered encomium on Billy Gilmour.

Chelsea have been going through a tough time domestically in the past few weeks as they’ve not been able to grind in positive results despite all the money invested in the team during the summer transfer.

Frank Lampard’s side currently lie in eighth place on the table and the team will be eager to turn things around when they battle Morcambe at Stamford Bridge.

With some first team players set to be benched for the game, Frank Lampard has hailed youngster Billy Gilmour for his recent performance.

Gilmour is likely to lead the midfield against Morcambe just months after he made his Chelsea breakthrough with some wonderful performance.

However, a long-term knee injury put a dent on his season but he’s now back and better, a move Frank Lampard is proud of.

Speaking with club website concerning Gilmour and what he offers to the team, Lampard stated that he’s delighted with his progress and altitude.
