Lampard voiced out frustrations with pundits reaction to young defender injury
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is not a happy man when it comes to the criticism blues defender Andreas Christensen has received following his knee injury.
Andreas Christensen is not a starter under Frank Lampard this season as he is in the pecking order behind Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.
However, he was given a chance to explore himself against Aston Villa on December 28 but his night ended when he took a heavy bang to the knee in a clash with Jack Grealish.
The injury has kept him out of the team for the past few days and he’s set to miss the blues third round FA cup clash against Morcambe on Sunday.
Speaking about the injury and the reactions that has followed it from pundits and fans across the country, Lampard noted that to set the record straight, Andreas Christensen injury was absolutely from that moment in the Villa game.
He stated that it’s probably a typical modern-day reaction where Andreas has taken stick.
Lampard who was disappointment with the injury stated that Christensen is out but the injury isn’t too bad which is good news for him.
The English trainer added that Christensen return to training on Saturday.
Chelsea will be eager to bounce back as they’ve won just one match in their last six matches.
