Former Liverpool star linked to Chelsea

Barring unforeseen circumstances, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been tipped as the favourite to take over at Chelsea as their new permanent manager.

Ahead of Pochettino’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, the Argentine seems to be working out a list of new players he could sign in the summer transfer window.

This comes as a recent report revealed Pochettino has discussed signing Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane with Chelsea chiefs.

A report via Football Insider revealed he has raised the prospect of bringing Mane back to the English Premier League this summer.

Recall that Pochettino worked with the former Liverpool striker at Southampton and is aware he is unsettled in the German Bundesliga.

Bayer Munich are said to be willing to sell and would accept £30m to part with the Senegal international.

However, with Chelsea not playing European football next season, it is uncertain if Mane would want to reunite with Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.
