Brazil forward, and former Chelsea and Arsenal star Willian, in a recent statement, opened up on why he left Corinthians.

Willian said he left the Brazilian club after receiving death threats.

Recall that the 34-year-old returned to his local club last summer after leaving Arsenal.

But his stay at the club has not been smooth sailing and his contract was terminated on Friday.

The report disclosed that Willian is now set to make a return to the Premier League to sign for Fulham.

“I did not come to Brazil to get threatened.

“Whenever Corinthians lost and if sometimes I was not doing well in the game, my family received threats, and curses on social media.

“My wife, my daughters, after a while (they) also started attacking my father, and my sister,” Willian told reporters for the Globo Esporte.

Willian had played for Chelsea before moving to Arsenal.
