Former Chelsea manager says he was betrayed against Real Madrid

Former Chelsea and now Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel in a post-match statement after his side’s defeat to Spanish club Real Madrid said he felt ‘betrayed.’

Tuchel made the comment in reaction to the controversial refereeing decision in Bayern’s Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday.

A highlight from the match saw Alphonso Davies score the opening goal for Tuchel’s squad the but Joselu netted a late brace to give the Los Blancos a stunning comeback.

However, after Joselu’s second goal, Mattheus De Light attempted an equaliser which was ruled out as the defender was adjudged offside.

Expressing his disappointment after the match, Tuchel while speaking to TNT Sports claimed it was “against the rules” and the linesman had apologised.

The former Chelsea manager there was a very unusual mistake from his best player to score the equaliser, before Bayern conceded the second one in stoppage time.

Tuchel pointed out that there was a disastrous decision from the linesman and the referee after Bayern scored.

The manager described the refrees’ action as betrayal.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will now face German club Borussia Dortmund in the final to be played at Wembley Stadium in London.

Many are, however, rooting for Real Madrid ahead of the final.
