Fofana speaks after Chelsea’s win vs Leeds United
Chelsea centre-back defender Wesley Fofana in a post-match statement revealed he enjoyed playing in a back three alongside Benoit Badiashile and Kalidou Koulibaly as they managed to defeat Leeds United in a 1-0 scoreline.
While Fofana’s lone goal was a decisive one for Chelsea, however, if they had not kept a clean sheet, there would not have been a win for them.
“I feel good,” the centre-back told Chelsea TV when asked about playing in a back three.
“It feels good [playing alongside] Benoit and Kouli in a three.
“Today we win with a three as well, so it’s perfect.
While it is uncertain that Graham Potter will stick with a back three, former Blue star Jason Cundy believes the manager should at least stick with this structure for Tuesday’s UCL game against German club Borussia Dortmund.
However, Badiashile’s absence in the Champions League could prove troublesome, as Trevoh Chalobah is the only other available centre-back option.
