Maresca names Chelsea player whose work rate he loves

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca in a recent statement revealed the player whose work rate he loves.

Maresca expressed his love for defender Wesley Fofana’s work at Stamford Bridge.

Recall that Fofana moved to Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2022.

The defender recently recovered from a knee injury that kept him on the sidelines for many months.

Fofana, 23-year-old, returned to action for the Blues in the Premier League as they thrashed the Hammers 3-0 on Saturday.

Speaking about the Frenchman, Maresca in a post-match statement said Fofana is a player he really loves.

“I am in love with Wes because after one year injured he’s doing fantastic,” the Argentine said.

According to Maresca, most players would struggle to make a come back if they were out of the team for one year.

In Fofana’s case, he has been impressive for the Blues since his return.

Meanwhile, the defender could be back in action once again during the week when Chelsea face Barrow in the EFL on Tuesday.

The west London side will hope to maintain their top form by defeating Barrow to progress in the EFL as they hope to win a title under manager Maresca, who joined Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement.
