Chelsea will return to action on Wednesday night when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the EFL tournament.

The Blues already have an edge against Tottenham, having earlier on defeated them in a 2-0 scoreline in the first leg played at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be without Ben Chilwell, Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah, while Edouard Mendy is away on international duty.

The latest report revealed that Thiago Silva and N’golo Kante have tested negative for Covid-19 as they joined the rest of the team on Tuesday training.

It is, however, uncertain Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will start any of the two football stars but could bring them in from the bench.

Cesar Azpilicueta could start for Chelsea at the back alongside Antonio Rudiger and Malang Sarr, while Kepa Arrizabalaga returns in goal post ahead of Marcus Bettinelli.

Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso could return to their wide positions, but Jorhinho could take over from Saul Niguez’s place in the middle.

It is uncertain Mateo Kovacic will play after he was substituted in the half-time against Chesterfield, Mason Mount, and Kai Havertz are expected to return in the final third.

Romelu Lukaku is expected to return to lead the attack against Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Sarr; Ziyech, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Havertz; Lukaku
