Chelsea are reportedly ready to let their veteran defender and Brazil international Thiago Silva leave this summer.

According to the reports, the Blues will permit Silva’s departure to return to his home country club.

Silva, who has another year on his current contract at Stamford Bridge has been linked with a move to his former club, Fluminese.

The ace defender has played a key role in Chelsea’s defence since joining the Blues on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2020.

While Chelsea wants Silva to stay beyond this season, however, should he decide to leave, the West London side won’t stand in his way, The Telegraph report.

Silva has a personal connection with Fluminese as the Brazilian side gave him a lifeline back in 2006 with a loan move when he had just recovered from a career-threatening tuberculosis problem.

It had always been his desire to end his career with them.
