Chelsea vs Liverpool: Possible prediction

Ahead of Chelsea’s face off vs Liverpool in their opening match of the season on Sunday, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has given his prediction of how the game could go.

The west London side will host Jurgen Klopp’s led Liverpool squad in what will be Mauricio Pochettino’s first competitive match in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Like Chelsea, the Reds will hope to make a bright start to the new season after enduring an underwhelming campaign last season.

Chelsea, on the other hand, finished at the 12th spot on the league table despite spending hundreds of millions of pounds on new signings.

They would also hope to start the new season in a good way.

“My prediction is a high-scoring draw with both goalkeepers at their busiest, and the off-field battle for Caicedo will only add to the intensity of the occasion,” Carragher told the UK Telegraph.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are expected to be without their goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been linked with a loan move to Real Madrid.
