Chelsea target names Virgil van Dijk as the toughest defender he has ever faced
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, who is one of the most wanted forward who has been linked with moves to Chelsea, among others in a recent statement, revealed the toughest defender he has ever faced.
Haaland, in his statement, named Liverpool centre back, and Dutchman Virgil van Dijk as the toughest defender he has played against.
The 21-year-old has played against Van Dijk three times and failed to win any of the games.
Haaland lost two times to Van Dijk during his time at Red Bull Salzburg in the Uefa Champions League, and most recently, a World Cup qualifying draw with Norway in which he bagged a goal.
The Norwegian described the Liverpool star defender as a physical monster who is strong and fast.
“You know how tall he is, how strong he is and how fast he is, and also the timing is crazy.
“I don’t think I won one duel against him because he’s a physical monster,” Haaland said in an interview with ESPN.
