Chelsea target begs Lampard and Everton to let him leave
Everton winger, Anthony Gordon is keen on joining Chelsea this summer after the Blues indicated an interest in him joining their squad.
In a bid to see this happen, Gordon has appealed to Everton manager, Frank Lampard to allow him to join Chelsea this summer, The Athletic reports.
According to the report, the winger has personally spoken to Lampard, as well as Everton’s hierarchy, and told them he wants to join Chelsea and they are respectful of his wishes.
Gordon feels playing for a big club like Chelsea, who are competing in different tournaments like the Champions League will boost his career and chances of getting a surprise call-up to Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
The Blues already had offers worth £40 million and £45 million turned down by Everton in recent weeks, who said the winger was not for sale as it would be a big blow on them having already sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea are not relenting and are now wet to return to the table with a bid worth £60 million which they hope will convince the Toffees to sell the 21-year-old.
According to the reports, the bid will be worth £50 million upfront plus £10 million in various add-ons.
