Chelsea predicted to miss out in top four
While Chelsea are seated at the third spot on the Premier league table, it doesn’t however guarantee that they will finish in the top four in the ongoing campaign.
Chelsea have Liverpool and Leicester City to compete for a spot in the remaining two spots on the log table with Man City and Man Utd already at the top two.
However, Sky Sports pundit, Lewis Jones has predicted Chelsea to miss out in the top four for this season.
According to him, the chances of Chelsea making it to the top four depends heavily on the outcome of their match vs. Aston Villa.
If Leicester City beat Tottenham and Chelsea fail to beat Aston Villa at Villa Park, there is a chance both Leicester and Liverpool could finish in the top four while the Blues slip to fifth.
Jones believes this is what will play out.
“I would much rather be in Leicester’s shoes and play Tottenham Hotspur at home rather than Aston Villa away.
“When playing with confidence and at full strength, Villa have shown they are a team capable of mixing it towards the top end of the Premier League, as shown in their impressive win at Spurs in midweek.
“Playing Chelsea is obviously a step up, but there is a significant bit of juice about getting them onside in this match, especially with Grealish returning to full throttle,” he said.
