Chelsea fans across the globe might currently be lamenting about their team performance but they have a cause for celebration as their next opponent lose an important player in their team.

Frank Lampard’s team will be facing Aston Villa on Monday just 24 hours after they played Arsenal, a match that ended 3-1 in favour of the Gunners.

While Chelsea went through a tough week, Aston Villa enjoyed their boxing day as they beat Crystal Palace three goals to nothing, a win that saw them climb above the Blues.

Aston Villa and Chelsea are tied on 25 points but the blues have played 15 games compared to Villa’s 13 and Dean Smith side will be eager to prove a point when they meet.

Chelsea have now been given an added advantage as Aston Villa will not be able to play their top defender, Tyrone Mings who was sent off in their win over Crystal Palace.

Mings was sent off with two yellow cards meaning he will miss their next clash against Chelsea and as one of their top performer this season, it’s a great news for Blues fans.

Mings has featured in 13 Premier League games so far this season and his side have just conceded just 13 goals in as many games.
