Chelsea in talks to offload this out-of-favour star to Serie A giants for £13m

Napoli are reportedly in talks with Chelsea over the possibilities of Emerson Palmieri joining them this summer.

The arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City last summer saw Emerson struggling for game time under the guidance of Frank Lampard and eventually Thomas Tuchel.

Emerson was forced to play the third choice during the later part of the season as Ben Chilwell was preferred as the first choice first-choice left-back/wingback with Marcos Alonso, his backup.

With Chelsea being linked with some defenders in Europe, the blues are willing to let go of some superstars.

According to transfer news from The Sun, Emerson Palmieri has emerged as a top target for Napoli who believes he has the potential of playing in their team.

Reports claim the two clubs are in talks with each other over the transfer fee which the Blues want is £13million.

However, the Italian side are hoping to get the player who is currently in Roberto Mancini’s Italy team at Euro 2020 for around £10million.

Emerson has just one year left on his current Chelsea deal and the blues will be eager to do business with Napoli so the Italian won’t leave on a free transfer next summer.
