Manchester City are reportedly in the driving seat to sign Sergio Ramos on a free transfer when his contract with Real Madrid expires.

Sergio Ramos is set to announce his departure from Real Madrid in the next few hours and top clubs across Europe are monitoring his situation.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain PSG, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City.

However, the reports from AS suggest that the 35-year-old centre-back might be moving to Pep Guardiola’s team as his representatives have been in contact with the Premier League champions for some time.

Pep Guardiola is said to be working on a deal to bring Sergio Ramos to Manchester City to pace the way for Aymeric Laporte who has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona.

Sergio Ramos is regarded as one of the best defenders in world football and Man City fans will love to have such an experienced player in their squad.

Manchester City boast of the best backline last season with Ruben Dias and John Stones forming a good partnership but the addition of Sergio Ramos will add more spice to the team.
