Chelsea defender undergoes medical in Monaco
Aside from Marcos Alonso, another Chelsea defender on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge this summer is Malang Sarr.
The recent report claimed Sarr is close to becoming a Monaco player.
While Sarr became a Chelsea player in the summer of 2020, he was loaned out to Porto where he endured an unsuccessful stint in Portugal.
However, rather than spend another year away from the west London side, Sarr was kept in the first-team squad by Thomas Tuchel.
But he never really made it to the Blues first team squad, making only 16 starts.
According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Sarr has now been allowed to return to his homeland with Monaco.
The report claimed that Chelsea will initially receive a loan fee of £600,000 with Monaco having the obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Chelsea stand to receive in the region of £13m if Sarr impresses some criteria during his time at the Ligue 1 title contenders.
