Former Chelsea midfielder, Gus Poyet, in a statement has advised the club under the leadership of Todd Boehly to make a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Poyet, Aubameyang would be a ‘perfect fit’ for Chelsea should they complete a transfer for him before the summer window closes.

Aubameyang has worked with Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, in the past as they were together at German club Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking to Lord Ping, Poyet said: “Aubameyang would be perfect for Chelsea. He looks happy and back to his best scoring goals.”

Poyet added: “I do not know why Chelsea and Barcelona are constantly trying to sign and steal the same players from each other this summer. Both clubs want similar players even though they are nothing alike.”

Aubameyang would come at a time Chelsea are in need of a new striker to replace Timo Werner, who left Stamford Bridge for RB Leipzig this summer after failing to impress at the club.
