Chelsea considering moves for French midfielder

French midfielder Khephren Thuram has been reported to be one of the players on Chelsea’s list as they consider moves for a defensive midfielder.

Chelsea have no out-and-out player especially as N’Golo Kante is being deployed slightly further upfield.

This has made them consider a move for Thuram, who is said to be on the club’s shortlist for the summer window.

Rudy Galetti reported that the Blues have joined other clubs in a bid to complete a move for Thuram, who has played 46 times for Nice this season, with 17 of those games coming from defensive midfield.

At 22, Thuram has made 136 appearances for Nice with his performances this season making him a player with a prospect.

Other players on Chelsea’s midfield shortlist are Romeo Lavia from Southampton, Manu Kone from Gladbach, and Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, all of whom have impressed for their respective clubs this season.

According to Transfermarkt, Thuram is valued at €32million, but with him likely to attract heavy interest from across Europe, Nice would likely up his transfer fee.
