Chelsea considering move for out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder

Chelsea are reportedly back in the transfer window for the signature of Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic who has been struggling at the club.

Barcelona have continued their good business in the transfer window by bringing in Memphis Depay on a free transfer from Lyon and are reportedly eyeing another midfielder.

This report has put further doubt on the future of Pjanic, who lost his place under Ronald Koeman last season.

Chelsea who have been linked with top players across Europe, have now identified Pjanic as a suitable player for Thomas Tuchel.

According to Le10Sport, the blues are ready to rival Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for the 31-year-old’s signature.

Chelsea are set to lose Billy Gilmour, who is on the brink of joining Norwich City on a season-long loan deal, and a replacement is needed in that department.

Reports have now claimed that Chelsea are willing to sign Pjanic on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona rather than signing him on a permanent deal.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international has three years remaining on his contract, and Barcelona are ready to let him go to reduce their wage bill.

Pjanic first campaign at Camp Nou is not what he would have hoped for as he made just 13 starts and 17 substitute appearances in all competitions.
