As the summer transfer window commences Chelsea have identified four alternatives they could sign if they are unable to get a deal done for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

Signing a new midfielder is one of Chelsea’s priorities this summer but they could miss out on their former academy player Declan Rice, who is the subject of an £80 million bid from Arsenal.

Considering Rice’s possible move to Arsenal, Chelsea have shifted their focus to a deal for Caicedo and according to the report, a £60 million bid was rejected by Brighton two weeks ago for the Ecuador star.

Chelsea are said to be considering returning to the table with an improved offer for Caicedo but has also identified multiple alternatives to the 21-year-old, including Romeo Lavia, Nicolo Barella, Manu Kone and Sandro Tonali.

Meanwhile, Chelsea hope to rebuild their squad under their new manager Mauricio Pochettino this summer.
