With a few hours to go to the end of the January transfer window, the latest report has revealed that Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to joining Spanish club Barcelona.

The latest report via Sky Sports revealed that Barcelona are in advanced talks with Arsenal to sign Aubameyang on loan.

While the Catalans and Arsenal have not agreed to the deal yet, there is increased confidence it can be completed before the January transfer window closes on Monday night.

It is believed that the LaLiga giants would not have an option to make Aubameyang’s switch permanent, and discussions continue over how much of the 32-year-old’s wages they would cover.

If the deal happens, Aubameyang will move to the Nou Camp until the end of the season.

Aubameyang has been banished from Arsenal’s first-team by the manager, Mikel Arteta after a disciplinary breach led to him being stripped of the captain’s armband.

The last time the Gabon international played for Arsenal was December 6 2021.

It would be best for him to join the Catalans if he values playing football.
