Manchester United Expected to Beat Arsenal to ‘Fantastic’ Leicester Youngster
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Leicester City youngster Louis Page, with the Red Devils currently ahead of Arsenal in the race for the highly rated teenager.
United have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window under Michael Carrick, strengthening both their first-team squad and their long-term recruitment strategy. Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow have arrived to provide immediate quality, while several promising young players have also been recruited.
The club’s focus on developing future talent is continuing, with Page now emerging as a key target. The Leicester youngster has attracted attention after being described as a “fantastic young player”, with United reportedly expected to reach an agreement for his signature.
Arsenal are also understood to have shown interest in Page, but reports indicate that the Premier League champions currently trail Manchester United in the race.
Leicester boss Russell Martin is believed to be keen to retain the youngster, although the growing interest from two of England’s biggest clubs could make that increasingly difficult.
For United, the potential signing fits into a broader strategy of combining immediate first-team improvements with investment in young talent capable of developing into future stars.
The Red Devils are still expected to remain active in the transfer market, with another midfielder among their priorities alongside potential additions at left-back, winger and striker.
However, securing Page would represent another important step in United’s efforts to build a strong young core, while Arsenal may be forced to turn their attention elsewhere if the expected agreement is completed.
