Arsenal manager reveals veteran forward is moving closer towards exit from the club

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that experience forward Willian is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer away from the club.

Willian joined Arsenal 12 months ago on a free transfer from Chelsea but he has failed to establish himself at Emirates Stadium.

With Arsenal struggling to compete with their rivals last season, a lot of changes has occured in the club this season with Willian one of the players set to make way.

Arteta has now confirmed that Willian is on the verge the of completing a move to Brazilian side Corinthians.

Speaking with the press, Arteta stated that Arsenal are having some conversations with Willian and the agent, and both parties are evaluating the position that they are in at the moment.

Arteta insisted that he does not know why it hasn’t worked out for him here noting that at the moment Willian is an Arsenal player and the club are trying to get the best out of him while he is here.

The Spaniard added that anything different is just things that can happen.

Willian made 37 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal last season, scoring just one goal and providing five assists.
