Arsenal are reportedly prepared to part ways with striker Eddie Nketiah as talks with Marseille over his transfer continue to progress.

The 25-year-old forward, who has made 168 appearances for the Gunners but only started 38 Premier League matches, has primarily served as a backup option during his time at the club.

With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz ahead of him in the pecking order, Nketiah is expected to leave Arsenal this summer.

Marseille have emerged as a strong contender for his signature, although negotiations are ongoing regarding the transfer fee.

Arsenal have set a price of €30 million (£25.7 million) for Nketiah, having previously rejected a €20 million (£16.8 million) offer from the Ligue 1 side.

To facilitate the deal, Arsenal are reportedly open to a loan arrangement, provided it includes an obligation for Marseille to make the transfer permanent next summer.

Personal terms between Nketiah and Marseille have already been agreed upon, with a five-year contract waiting for the striker in France. The ball is now in Marseille’s court to decide whether to meet Arsenal’s asking price.

Marseille’s new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, is said to be eager to bring Nketiah to the club, despite having already strengthened his attacking options with the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United earlier in the summer.
