Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag amid the club’s woes appeared to have proffered a solution.

Ten Hag in recent statement said the Red Devils’ performances will improve when he has left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia fit again to play.

The Red Devils boss has come under intense  pressure at Man United following their last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham followed by a Thursday’s 3-3 draw with Porto in the Champions League.

Shaw has been unavailable for the Red Devils this season due to a calf issue, while Malacia has not played since the summer of 2023 due to a knee injury.

Ten Hag had said he doesn’t expect Shaw and Malacia to return until after the October international break.

When asked about Diogo Dalot’s makeshift role at left-back, Ten Hag said for the patterns he preferred in this moment Diogo to Noussair Mazraoui, who are both right full backs.

Ten Hag noted that for a long time the Red Devils have had a personnel issue at the left-back.
