Former Man Utd star and Derby County boss, Wayne Rooney has tipped his former colleague and Portugal international, Cristiano Ronaldo to have an impact at Man Utd.

Recall that after twelve years away from Old Trafford, Ronaldo made a return to the EPL side from the Italian Seria A.

A move that many has termed unnecessary as they believe Ronaldo would not be able to perform at the club.

Rooney however is of the opinion that Portuguese star man would have an impact on Man Utd as he would help them win the Premier League which they have been unable to win since Ole Gunnae Solkjaer took charge as coach.

“What impact will Ronaldo have? An enormous one, I think he’s still one of the best players in the world,” Rooney told talkSPORT. “I think we’ve seen in the game against Ireland that’s what he does, last couple of minutes he scores two goals, two great headers, so he can have a massive impact on this league.

Rooney revealed he knows United are finally ready to go and challenge for the title with the presence of Ronaldo in the team.

The Derby County boss believes Ronaldo’s mentality will rub off on the younger players which he believes is a great timing.

“It’s a physical league, he knows, he’s played in it, so I’m sure he’s prepared and he’s ready to go and score goals again for Manchester United,” Rooney added.
